Best Spots for a First Look

Bride & Groom on Pier

A “first look” is one of the most special wedding photos you can capture. Hidden away from the eyes of your bustling friends and family, you and your soon-to-be spouse sharing a quick glance or two just before the ceremony is an intimate, calming setting for just the two of you. At The Resort at Longboat Key Club, beautiful spots are hidden around virtually every corner to make sure your moment is picture perfect! Here’s a sneak peek at a few of our favorites.

South Beach Boardwalk

The views from this boardwalk cannot be beat! The pathway down the walk is lined with tropical foliage, letting the bride and groom enjoy an intimate moment in front of the waves, and the elevation means you don’t have to worry about getting covered in sand before you walk down the aisle.

North Beach

Similar to the south beach boardwalk, the north beach area provides waterfront photos without being directly on the beach. The surrounding greenery makes the spot feel like an oceanside garden, perfect for a quick, quiet photo op.

Pathway from North Beach

Just past the north beach spot is this shady, secluded pathway that winds through two resort buildings. Uniquely full of pine trees and dense plant life, having your first look here is a guarantee of more variety in your wedding album.

Marina Mangroves overlooking the bay

Our private channel to bay is virtually unknown, making it the perfect place to sneak away and take in just how amazing your partner looks. The mangrove trees and canal create a beautifully natural backdrop.

In front of Portofino

While the front of our delicious Italian restaurant may seem like an unusual photo spot, the Mediterranean ambiance makes for a gorgeous picture. Basking in the breeze off of the harbor, any pre-wedding jitters will disappear and be replaced with a relaxed, happy glow.

Harbourside Golf Bridge

The bridge connecting two of our Harbourside golf courses is draped in trees, overlooks a small pond, and is just big enough for two. Take a quick stroll before the big moment, and remember today is about the two of you.
