Historic Spanish Point in Sarasota, FL

Overlooking the beautiful Little Sarasota Bay, and great for guests who choose to vacation at one of Longboat Key Club & Resort’s Florida monthly rental properties, Historic Spanish Bay is a 30 acre site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dedicated to preserving and interpreting 5,000 years of history for our Florida monthly rental and resort guests, Historic Spanish Point offers visitors the chance to go inside a prehistoric shell mound and enjoy formal gardens, nature trails, and a visitor's center.

To educate Florida monthly rental and resort guests, as well as local history buffs, Historic Spanish Point divides the narrative of the site into four distinct parts. They are the four P's of the Point: Prehistory, Pioneer, Palmer and Plants. These four elements are connected to each other, and they provide Florida monthly rental and resort visitors comprehensive insight into the history and importance of the region.

Each spring and summer, Florida monthly rental guests can take advantage of Historic Spanish Point's Program Department, which hosts camps for kids ages 6-15. These exciting day camps vary in theme from archaeology, nature, pioneer life, and maritime heritage, to just plain old fun in the sun.
