Sarasota’s Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall
Arguably the crown jewel of Sarasota's contemporary arts scene, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall plays host to a broad range of performers. Guests frequently return to Longboat Key Club & Resort – the area’s premier Florida resort destination – for the venue’s many famous shows and offerings.
Set along the waterfront, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall has been entertaining Florida resort guests with a mix of music, dance, theater and comedy for more than 35 years. It opened its doors to audiences and Florida resort guests in 1970 with a production of Fiddler on the Roof.
Since then, the Hall has welcomed a broad range of performers and shows, including world-class symphonies, both classical and modern dance companies, jazz artists, pop legends, and the best Broadway has to offer, such as Spring 2008’s “Movin’ Out” – playing all season for those planning a Florida resort vacation.
The 1,736-seat Hall is owned and operated by the City of Sarasota, and it’s a must-visit for Florida resort guests in search of an ever-evolving and engaging cultural experience.
